Hailey + Sam | Winter Engagement Session {Toledo OH Wedding Photographer}
This snow engagement session is one of my favorites from 2016, and not just because I know the bride-to-be. We all know how Toledo, Ohio weather can be in the winter. The forecast might say 5 inches of snow is coming, and then we get nothing. You might also see the local weatherman say just a dusting, then something quick changes at the last hour and you wake up to half a foot on your driveway. It’s very unpredictable. Some winters we have snow for a few months on the ground, and some winters the snow melts as quickly as it came. So when Hailey and Sam wanted snow photos, I tried to be as realistic with them as possible. It would a sudden schedule once the snow was on the ground. And lucky for us, the middle of December, we had a snow storm. On Thursday we set the date and on Sunday we shot. The only little hiccup was actual snow during the session. It was just a few hours off predictions from Thursday. We shot at Hailey’s parent’s home. They have an open cornfield on one side and a forested trail on another side of their property. This let us stay close to the house for warming up and drying off while creating the feeling of a walk in the woods. Each time I look at their full gallery I fall more in love with it. Hailey and Sam were just easy going and kept it light through all the small handicaps we had. I am already looking forward to their June wedding.
